Rewards Program

Last updated · July 22, 2026

Share-a-thon uses gamification to make fundraising fun and rewarding. This page explains how badges, points, and streaks work — and how the only monetary thank-you, a $20 gift card for $500 raised, is handled.

1. Badges and points are gamification only

Badges, points, streaks, tiers, and other recognition features on Share-a-thon are purely gamified. They are a fun way to celebrate participation, progress, and impact. They have no cash value, are not redeemable, and cannot be exchanged for money, gift cards, or prizes.

No user is paid or rewarded with money or gift cards for earning badges, completing challenges, maintaining streaks, or reaching any tier.

2. Action Carrots are promotional recognition points

"Action Carrots" (or "Carrots") are non-monetary points awarded for participation in the platform — for example, completing setup steps, sharing a campaign, hitting activity goals, or being recognized for a milestone. They are not currency, not securities, and have no cash value.

Action Carrots may be used to unlock badges, display status, or compete on friendly leaderboards. They are never converted into money, gift cards, or any other redeemable value.

3. The only monetary thank-you: $500 raised = $20 gift card

The only monetary reward available on Share-a-thon is a $20 digital gift card sent as a referral thank-you from Hogwild Fundraising LLC ("Share-a-thon") to a sharer whose personal link has driven verified donations totaling at least $500.

This $20 gift card is funded by Share-a-thon. It is not deducted from the cause's payout, not paid by the donor, and not charged to the organization. It is a thank-you from the platform for helping a cause reach more supporters.

This reward is currently paused while we complete our gift card provider approval process in test mode. Tracking remains in place so it can resume cleanly once the provider is live.

4. Eligibility and anti-abuse

  • You must meet the minimum age and identity requirements disclosed at signup.
  • You may not self-donate to inflate your own referral totals, use bots or automated tooling, create duplicate accounts, or otherwise manipulate the rewards program.
  • Donations are donations and are processed separately from any gamification or promotional rewards.
  • We may withhold, claw back, or forfeit rewards; suspend badges or points; or close accounts that violate these terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or our Terms of Service.

5. Taxes

Recipients of any $20 gift card are responsible for any taxes owed on that value. Where required by law, we will collect taxpayer information and issue applicable tax forms (for example, IRS Form 1099 in the United States) before processing a gift card above the reporting threshold.

6. Program changes

We may change the rewards program at any time, including badge criteria, point rules, tier thresholds, and gift card eligibility. Material changes will be disclosed in-app and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

7. No fundraising guarantee

Participation in the gamification or rewards program does not guarantee any particular fundraising result, donation volume, or gift card. Earnings depend on actual donations received through your share link.

8. Relationship to other terms

These Rewards Program terms supplement, and do not replace, our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refunds & Disputes policy. If there is a conflict between these terms and the Terms of Service on a topic specific to the rewards program, these terms control for that topic.
